Web Design & Branding for Access 2 Work

A small organisation with a big plan. Access 2 Work was set up to help and support young people in Worthing trying to gain a foothold in the working world. What they needed was an engaging new brand identity, marketing collateral and a website that encouraged people to find out more.

Professional Web Design & Branding

This project presented us with two main challenges. The first was in creating a new brand that looked professional and didn’t blend in when marketing materials were placed alongside marketing collateral from other organisations. The second challenge was to create something that stands out and appeals to the younger audience; teenagers and young adults in and around the Worthing area. We needed to keep things simple and interesting without leaving the key audience feeling patronised.

Web Design & Workflow Simplification

Whilst we were designing for a younger audience, we had to maintain a professional image. The web site was designed to be clean and minimal with accents of colour to help lighten the mood and liven things up a little bit. To make our clients life a little easier, we recommended implementing an advanced form to handle online registrations. Together we created a list of the most important questions and the functionality required by the form. They were incredibly happy about having an automated system that allowed users to safely enter a number of details as well as upload their CV. It looked much more professional and it saved people time instead of having to download and print out a PDF or asking people to send an email with all of the information.

Brand Mark Creation

The objectives were clear. We knew that we needed to avoid wordy and jargon-filled communication – it all had to get to the point. This requirement led us towards using a vibrant, high contrast and minimal design style. When it came to composing the logo design, the client already had an idea of what they wanted. It’s a great feeling knowing that your client understands what they want from their logo and has invested some of their own time into something that is clearly important to them.

Professional Brand & Identity Design

Once we had established the brand style and the specific elements, it was then our task to apply the bran styles to each individual marketing material. We really enjoy exploring brand styles and creating new brand elements to play with, we try to think creatively about how they can be used to help emphasise the values of the brand and engage with the right people.
